What is a Diploma Supplement?
The Diploma Supplement which was developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES accompanies a higher education diploma and aims at providing sufficient independent data to improve the international “transparency” and fair academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates etc...). It is designed to provide a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were pursued and successfully completed by the individual named on the original qualification to which this supplement is appended. It is free from any value judgements, equivalence statements or suggestions about recognition.

Diploma Supplement in English is delivered automatically and free of charge to all Istanbul Okan University graduates with their Diplomas.
Diploma Supplement consists of the following eight sections:

• Information identifying the holder of the qualification
• Information identifying the qualification
• Information on the level of the qualification
• Information on the contents and results gained
• Information on the function of the qualification
• Additional information
• Certification of the supplement
• Information on the national higher education system

What does a Diploma Supplement offer to students?

Who can get a Diploma Supplement?
Diploma Supplement in English is issued to all Istanbul Okan University graduates automatically and free of any charges upon their graduation.

Where/ How can you get your Diploma Supplement?
Diplomas and Diploma Supplements are issued for all Istanbul Okan University Graduates. Diplomas and Diploma Supplements to undergraduate students are delivered from the Registrar’s Office on Tuzla Campus, to graduate students from the Registrar’s Office in Mecidiyeköy Campus. Diploma Supplement may only be given to the student in person; not to a third person.

What it is not?

• Diploma Supplement is not a Curriculum Vitae(CV)
• It is not a substitute for the original transcript of records or diploma or qualification,
• It is not an automatic system that guarantees recognition
