About the Department


The environment in which communication takes place has dramatically changed in recent years, making it necessary to reconsider the ways public relations and advertisement is taught. Our department aims to develop students’ critical and analytical skills by providing them not only with a solid social sciences training but also with the necessary tools to adapt to an ever-changing environment. Preparing students for the business world being a priority of our Department, we give our students the opportunity to follow real life situations through case studies, conducting conferences with renowned professionals, and internship opportunities in communication agencies, media companies, and other private institutions.

The classes are held in Turkish and students are required to follow a one year English preparatory class followed by a four year undergraduate program. Students eager to learn a second foreign language may choose between Russian, Chinese, and German. Accomplished students are allowed to apply for a double major or a minor program and may also study abroad within the framework of Erasmus programs.
