Translation and Interpreting in Arabic

MENU

Translation and Interpreting Studies in Arabic was founded, as the first of its kind in Turkey, in the 2009-2010 academic year under The Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies. The courses within the program have the following features;

The students focus on Arabic language skills in the preparatory year. The courses focusing on Arabic language skills are led by experienced faculty specializing in teaching Arabic as a foreign language. The dialects of Arabic, as well as Modern Arabic, are taught within the program. In addition, the program aims to train translators and interpreters who are competent in both written and spoken language.

The students can choose elective courses focusing on international trade, international relations, Middle East, and North Africa. Thus, by the time they graduate, the students have the necessary background information on the work fields such as import-export, international marketing, international counseling services, and international think-thank institutions.

Our graduates have the opportunity to learn and develop their language skills in English, German, Russian or Chinese as well. As it is not sufficient to learn one language to be a translator, our students learn these languages to stand out in their careers.

Thanks to our department's education, our students begin their professional lives with many advantages, having been trained in information technologies and translation and memory software.
