Health Insurance is not only important for your safety but it is a legal obligation for international students in Turkey. Health insurance is also one of the requirements of obtaining residence permit.
International students have two options for getting a health insurance.
a) Private full coverage health insurance which is different that the visa travel insurance. You can buy this insurance from private companies. Istanbul Okan University can assist you in finding an appropriate one.
b) Social Security Institute General Health Insurance – This is a state health insurance which has to be applied within the first three months of enrolment at the university.
