The Translation Studies Program at Istanbul Okan University offers a graduate study for researchers who aim to do academic studies in translation studies in Turkey and abroad.
The Program also contributes directly to the training of scientifically-equipped academic staff needed by translation and interpreting programs in Turkey.
Through various courses about translation theory, translation history, translation criticism, and practices in specialized areas, the Program offers students a scholarly framework that will enable them to approach research issues from a translation studies perspective.
The Program is open to graduates in all fields interested in theoretical and practical matters of translation. Apart from English-Turkish, it is also possible to work with lingual-cultural pairs of Russian-Turkish, Arabic-Turkish, and Chinese-Turkish. However, for non-native speakers of Turkish or international students, competency of both Turkish and English is expected at least B2 level.
On top of language options and well-designed course contents, one of our Program's unique aspects is that courses are taught by renowned lecturers who have publications in national or international scientific journals in the field.
